Practitioner Training
  Introduction

"The FUTURE of Successful Therapy".

Affectology courses and practitioner training programs are available through the School of Affectology in Australia and the Euro-Scandin School of Affectology in Scandinavia and Northern Europe (and other international areas).

The philosophy of the schools is built on a firm commitment to the training of practitioners operating within "best and safest" practices guidelines. In other terms, it may be said that the schools have an ultimate commitment to the everyday client rather than the clinician, or their own commercial viability.

The first and most basic tenet of the medical profession is "do no harm," and this, whilst seemingly "lost" to the philosophies of the health professions, remains uppermost in the realm of affectology.

The human mind is incredibly resilient and able, but where there has been any breakdown of that resilience and the beginning of a mental or emotional "disorder," that resilience can be eroded. For this reason, affectologists and af-x® Practitioners conduct sessions with ultimate care based on deeper understanding of the processes of the subconscious affect mind.

It is public knowledge that some schools teaching therapies that claim to be "subconscious-oriented" proclaim that a person can be a "good therapist" without complex knowledge of what they are attending to, and that the focus of their teaching is not "theoretical." This attitude is irresponsible and dangerous, producing "therapists" who have no idea of some of the possible consequences of deviating from proven "safest practices" guidelines.

The School of Affectology (Australia) and the Euro-Scandin School of Affectology (Scandinavia and Northern Europe) both offer courses that are concerned with the study of the processes of the "affectological mind" and an understanding of the complexities of the Emotional Matrix before any instruction in practical and clinical aspects is allowable.

The tenets of the schools is not only to teach sound theory and effective practical application, but to train practitioners who offer, as a matter of procedure, all clients an opportunity to exercise "due diligence" in their choice to undertake the therapy.

In the same vein, the school intends to offer prospective students the opportunity to exercise "due diligence" in their choice to undertake the training. This is why the school provides a detailed prospectus that offers information about the context as well as the content, of our training programs.

The Diploma of Affectology course is divided into several "Tiers" of study and involves the following training components:

An Affectology Theory component (Tier 1 study) completed as external home based study, which serves much of the theory and conceptual study requirements. This better caters for the initial training of "distance" students.

Attendant training workshops and an intensive attendant component (Tier 2 study) that serves the majority of practical therapy training and leads to the commencement of clinical practice.

Several attendant developmental workshops (Tier 2a study) based on the results of clinical feedback, and additional practical instruction. After successful completion of the requirements of this component graduates receive their Diploma qualification.

An advanced Affectology Theory component (Tier 3 study) completed by graduates as external home based study, which is a prerequisite for advancement to registered af-x Practitioner status.

As Diploma graduates proceed with clinical practice and complete their Tier 3 studies, they must also meet other specific criteria as they work towards registration as an af-x Practitioner.
